Download via SFTP archive download interface

You may download recordings via the SFTP archive download interface. This method allows you to download archive footage by connecting to the SFTP service via direct connection to one of the encoder's communication interfaces (e.g. WiFi).

SFTP is the recommended method for downloading large collections of footage, since this will be faster than using the Recordings Downloader.

Further details on using SFTP may be found in the article How do I download recordings via SFTP?

Viewing downloaded archive files

Recording's recovered from the encoder will be saved as .csx format, or .csxs (if encrypted recording is being used). These files may both be opened and viewed using EdgeVis Media Manager. Further details may be found in the EdgeVis Media Manager User Guide

Using an encoder that supports the use of an external USB to record the archive footage is the quickest way to retrieve footage, as all that is required is to simply remove the disk from the encoder and connect to a PC. You may then use EdgeVis Media Manager to view them.
