Find out how to wipe all the settings from your device and start again

IMPORTANT

Under no circumstances should you attempt to access your encoder's BIOS settings or perform a BIOS reset - it is not necessary to access/alter the BIOS to factory reset your encoder.

For further details please refer to the following article:

Note that this will reset all settings (e.g. communications, camera, server credentials) to the default values.

  1. Create a text document on a blank FAT32-formatted USB pen (right-click -> new -> text document) - this will create a file called New Text Document.txt

  2. Rename the file to FACTORY_RESET (ensuring that the .txt file extension is also removed) - please note that you may need to change your Windows settings to show file extensions, instructions here)

  3. Connect the USB pen to the encoder and leave it connected for at least 30 seconds

  4. Remove the USB pen - the encoder will reboot in the factory default state.

This applies to:

IP Series Encoder, EdgeVis Video Router (EVVR), EdgeVis MiniCam or 4K-R800
