EVVR Encoder for Android Preview

Understand what is included in this Tech Preview!

Why should you test this trial?

We are introducing a completely new Android encoder app that reinvents our Android offering by:

  • Completely overhauled user interface
We've looked at everything - a simplified first-run experience, a streamlined setup process, and a cut-down and modernised menu system for configuration.

  • RTSP camera support

In addition to built-in camera and USB cameras, you can now use standard IP cameras (or any RTSP source) with your Android encoder - simply provide the app a standard RTSP URL.

  • Use of the latest Android libraries
We've upgraded the libraries we've used so that our handset compatibility is considerably better than the existing EdgeVis Mobile app.

  • We've heavily optimised the app
In comparison to the existing app, the new app uses significantly less CPU/GPU and is considerably more efficient - this translates to much longer running time when running from battery.

What do I need to test this software?

Access to EdgeVis Server v9.3 Tech Preview

This software won't work on your production v9.2 server. You'll have to either:

For self-hosting... licences

We recommend testing with One-In-One-Out v9 licences to allow use of different output streams (for testing different video codecs or analytics).

  • If you've got spare One-In-One-Out v9 licences, you can use those. Once you've finished testing, you can free those up as you would normally.

  • Alternatively, a limited number of trial licences can be made available for a short period. You'll need to connect your server to our CLS account.

If you're using our cloud hosted EdgeVis Server, we'll take care of your licences.
