If the issue you are encountering is not resolved by following the steps below please contact us for assistance.
My EdgeVis Server is not running / down, what do I do?
Firstly, you should attempt to access the server web management interface using these links:
https://localhost:944
https://127.0.0.1:9443
https://<internal_ip>:9443
https://<external_ip>:9443
If you are still unable to access the server, as an initial troubleshooting perform the following steps on the server PC:
Open the Windows Services list (press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog, type services.msc and then click OK)
Stop the 'EdgeVis Server' service (note that this may be called 'Network Server' on older versions of EdgeVis Server)
Stop the 'TVI Licensing' service
Start the 'TVI Licensing' service
Approx. 30 seconds later, start the 'EdgeVis Server' or 'Network Server' service.
Once the server has started up, attempt log in to the web management interface using the links above.
I can’t log into my server, what do I do?
If you are having problems logging into your server and your current credentials result in a login failed or your account has been disabled message, then please contact your server administrator who can reset your password or re-enable your account.
In case there was an IP address change on your EdgeVis Server PC you should visit http://localhost:9080/ from the server machine, which should launch the rescue console and allow you to change the configured IP address as per the below screenshot:
If the recovery console fails to appear, try pressing CTRL+F5 to perform a cache refresh.
My Client cannot connect to the server, what do I do?
If you are setting up your EdgeVis Client for the first time, please review the EdgeVis Client User Guide for guidance. You must ensure that the server address and the username and password is correct. If any of these are incorrect you will be advised.
If after entering the server address, you encounter an error that EdgeVis Client is unable to connect to the server then please ensure that:
The server address you are using is correct
The server is online
You have an active network connection
Note that the following ports need to be opened on any firewall, and port-forwarded to the EdgeVis Server’s PC to allow encoders and viewers to connect to the EdgeVis Server:
EdgeVis Encoder and Client Ports
Port 9300 (UDP) – Encoder connection channel
Port 9300 + 9301 (TCP) – Viewer control channels (9300 unencrypted, 9301 encrypted
Port 2048 (UDP) – Viewer video channel
