How do I authenticate an EdgeVis Server with the licence pool?

How to allow a server to authorise encoders to access your pool

Updated over a month ago

A fundamental change between Version 8 and Version 9 is that rather than EdgeVis Servers being individually licensed via a manual process (via our Ops team), you now have a single global pool to access from.

To allow this to be possible, if you are hosting your servers, when you install a new server, you will have to "authorise" that server to allow encoders connected to it to seamlessly grab licenses for their cameras as they require.

How to do this:

  • Login to the licensing portal: https://licensing.digitalbarriers.com/.

  • Click "Manage" on the licence pool you wish to manage.

  • Click the "Add new server" from the "Actions" dropdown menu.

  • Provide the server with a name for your own identification, and click "Create".

  • A verification code will then be provided to be inserted into your server (which you can copy). These codes usually expire in 24 hours.
