How do I log into my EdgeVis Server?

EdgeVis Server runs a web configuration interface - this article explains how to log in.

Updated over a week ago

EdgeVis Server runs a web server that you can use to configure your server, and manage encoder and user accounts.

Logging in

You will need the IP address of your server:

  • If you are accessing the server from the internet you will need the external IP address of your server.

  • If you are on the same local network as your server machine you will need the server's internal IP address.

  • If you are logged onto the machine running the server you can use 127.0.0.1

NOTE: EdgeVis Server does not use the standard port (443) for secure SSL web page, but uses 9443 instead - take care entering the web address.

  1. Open a supported web browser

  2. Enter https://<your server ip address>:9443/ into your web browsers address, substituting your server's IP address.

  3. A self-signed certificate was created on installation, which will cause the browser to show a security warning. You must accept the security exception to connect.

  4. Your browser should now show you the EdgeVis Server login page:
    โ€‹

  5. For newly installed servers the default username and password is

    • Username: Administrator

    • Password:

      • Windows Servers: <as entered during the initial setup wizard>

      • Linux Servers: password

  6. Otherwise use your existing EdgeVis login details.

  7. If successful, you will now be logged into your EdgeVis Server.

Supported browsers

Accessing EdgeVis Server requires an HTML5 browser with JavaScript and local storage enabled. It is tested with the latest versions of Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. Other browsers may work but are unsupported.

Windows Shortcut

If your EdgeVis Server is installed on Microsoft Windows you can find a shortcut to the web interface from the Start Menu.

An EdgeVis Server Login option is available from the EdgeVis Server group in the Start Menu.
