Acquiring EdgeVis Server licences for your encoders

This article details the steps required for acquiring licences for your encoder.

Included with each encoder is a Quick Start Guide that will talk you through the steps required to set up the various components in the EdgeVis platform.

As part of this installation, you must contact Digital Barriers to obtain a licence file for your encoders.

Follow these steps during installation to obtain the licences for your encoders:

  1. Install EdgeVis Server - please refer to the EdgeVis Server Installation Guides for help if necessary.

  2. Open the EdgeVis Server configuration interface in your web browser by navigating to https://<Server IP>:9443 in your web browser.

  3. On the Server Homepage page click Advanced server settings -> Licence management -> Request a new licence. This will prompt you for your Sales Reference Number:

    This can be found with the accompanying Invoice and takes a standard form:

    DB-XX-XX-XXXX-XXXX (where X is numeric).

  4. On the screen select Email Licence Request and enter the following e-mail address:

  5. Digital Barriers will generate a licence file using the information provided and e-mail a licence file back to you.

  6. On the Server Homepage page click Advanced server settings -> Licence management -> Upload a new licence and select your licence file when prompted.

  7. The Server Status tab should now update to reflect the licences required to support your encoder purchases:

  8. Your server is now ready to support your encoders - continue following the steps in the EdgeVis Server Setup Guides to finish creating the encoder accounts required to configure your encoders.
