Understand what options are available

For security reasons, and to allow us to verify and fully test the VPN functionality on our encoders, we only allow an explicit set of parameters to be used.

A categorised list can be found below.

Supported interface parameters:

  • PrivateKey
    (Required)

  • Address
    (Required)

  • DNS
    (Optional - only one DNS entry can be included)

  • MTU
    (Optional, if not provided it will default to 1420)

Supported peer parameters:

  • PublicKey
    (Required)

  • PresharedKey
    (Optional)

  • Endpoint
    (Required)

  • AllowedIPs
    (Required)

  • PersistentKeepalive
    (Optional, if not provided it will default to 0)

What is not supported?

  • More than one peer configuration
    (Any additional configurations will be ignored)

  • IPv6 addresses

  • More than one DNS entry

  • Any other parameters not on this list
