With version 9, we wanted to give you more control over your device, allowing you to diagnose and correct any issues you may run into.
One of the biggest ways we have accomplished this is through our new performance monitoring centre. This will provide live statistics for all outgoing video encoding streams.
While the hope is to never run into any issues, from time to time they will naturally arise. These can be due to overloading the device, lack of bandwidth or a variety of other issues.
When you open the page you will be presented with the following sections:
Hardware
This will give a snapshot of the overall load of the resources available to your device. This can include: CPU load, RAM usage, CPU temperature, and GPU load.
Outgoing encoding
A table is presented here with a row for each outgoing stream. It will show the quality being requested via the server settings for that device and allow you to compare it to the actual encoding quality being produced.
If the outgoing quality doesn't match up to what is being requested, a reason will be provided for why this is, the reasons can be:
Limited by available bandwidth
If the device does not have the available network connectivity to produce all the streams at the requested quality, this error can appear.
Limited by device performance
This warning can be shown if your device does not have the necessary computing power to produce the streams at the required quality.
Performance benchmarking
Finally, there is a section at the bottom of the page that points to our new benchmarking tool. This tool will give you a real-world guide to your hardware's limits, including how many streams it can output.
