There are two locations where you can erase a recording disk:

  • Using EdgeVis Server

  • Using the local web set up interface

Using EdgeVis Server to erase a disk

  1. Log into EdgeVis Server

  2. Locate your encoder, and open its configuration page.

  3. Under the Video Inputs section, select the Storage devices link in the right column:

  3. The Storage page will then list all available recording locations. If multiple locations are available, the encoder will pool the locations to increase the available storage duration.

  4. Click on the recording disk you want to erase.

  5. Click the Format device menu item, and confirm that you wish to erase the recording disk.

As of firmware version 8.5, in addition to a standard format, there is also an option to perform a Secure format device of your recording disks.

This will overwrite every recording file with random data - but be aware this can take many hours!!!.
