What is SafeZone 2D?
Updated over a week ago

SafeZone 2D is a video analytic which can detect objects entering and moving through a scene.

It can work with both PTZ and static cameras as it continually learns the background of a scene including:

  • moving background elements (e.g. windy foliage)

  • changes in lighting conditions

ensuring that only objects moving through the scene trigger an alarm.

This makes it much more useful than standard VMD, which is often fooled by small changes in the scene, e.g. shadows caused by clouds moving overhead or simple background changes such as trees blowing in the wind.

It requires no calibration, but can still be tailored to:

  • detect objects of specific sizes - a minimum and maximum size can be set

  • detect objects’ shapes – for example a user can choose to ignore wide objects (e.g. cars), but detect tall objects (e.g. people)

  • only detect within a region of interest.
