Introduction
This release includes updates to the following EdgeVis components:
EdgeVis Client for Windows (including Media Manager and Local Viewer)
EdgeVis Encoder 8.5.3
The new release includes the following new features, fixes (and known issues):
This release is supported on the following products:
EdgeVis Video Router 1, 1R, 1RL, 4, 4RL
EdgeVis HD-IP200
EdgeVis HD-IP470
EdgeVis MiniCam
New Encoder Feature - WPA3 support
We have increased the security of your encoder when used with Wi-Fi with the addition of WPA3-Personal for Access Point mode and Comms mode.
Access Point Mode
The encoder will advertise that it is capable of WPA3-Personal (SAE) and WPA2-PSK.
Communications Mode
The encoder will now allow WPA3-Personal and WPA2-PSK (preferring WPA3-Personal).
EdgeVis Encoder Resolved Issues
Resolves an issue where devices with built-in GPS (including Minicam and Video Router) could produce intermittent GPS if the modem is restarted when attempting to connect to a cellular network.
With earlier firmware it was impossible to use special non-alpha-numeric passwords when adding a camera - the web interface would stick on the 'probing' step. This will no longer happen and you can use special characters in camera passwords again.
The error text when entering a friendly name for a camera would incorrectly state that the user is allowed to use spaces - this is not the case. The error text has been updated to remove spaces from the list of allowed characters.
On the EdgeVis Video Router the automatic Wi-Fi hotspot would generate Access Point names that were too long and partially cut the serial number from the end.
This has been resolved by shortening the product name from 'EdgeVis Video Router' to 'EVVR' in the AP name.Resolves a crash when using both Safezone-2D in 'Public Safety' mode AND PTZ Tours. When the PTZ Tour began the encoder would crash.
EdgeVis Encoder Known Issues
We have removed the ability to add cameras to an encoder using 'FastConnect'. Due to third party camera manufacturer's updates the majority of new cameras do not operate with the old FastConnect scheme.
When adding an ONVIF camera the camera's HTTP web interface must use port 80 (the default web port).
FTP push can only connect to FTP servers that use the default FTP ports (20, 21).
EdgeVis Client 8.5.3
The new release does not include any new features, but does include the following fixes and improvements:
EdgeVis Client for Windows Resolved Issues

Local Viewer Resolved Issues
Performance has been improved when displaying video full-screen. Previously a user could observe brief pauses or flickering during video playback.
When reviewing video with Safezone-2D analytics enabled it was possible for the red box overlay of detected objects to get out of sync and fall behind - this has been resolved.
Media Manager Resolved Issues
Resolves a crash when trying to export video footage when the user is located in North/South America.
Resolved an issue when performing an export on Windows 2016, by removing the use of a Windows API not supported on earlier versions of Windows.
EdgeVis Client for iOS Resolved Issues
Resolves an issue where a user would be unable to add their EdgeVis server to the iOS Client.
When the alerts tab was opened in the iOS client, selecting an alert should allow the user to open the live stream or recorded footage but the view button was incorrectly greyed out.
