There are two possible levels of encryption:
Encrypted EdgeVis communications between the EdgeVis Server and Milestone Recording Server
Milestone XProtect HTTPS encryption
EdgeVis encryption
Due to export restrictions, we are unable to distribute a version that enables EdgeVis encryption via the Milestone Device Pack as a general release.
By default, the communications between Milestone and EdgeVis Server will be unencrypted. For this reason, we recommend installing EdgeVis Server in the same location as Milestone to avoid unencrypted.
Please contact Digital Barriers support for further information on how to upgrade to a version that includes encryption.
Milestone XProtect HTTPS encryption
It is possible to enable HTTPS within Milestone XProtect. Please refer to the Milestone documentation for more information.
The encryption feature is available in Milestone XProtect Corporate, Expert, Professional+, Express+, Essential+, 2019 R1 and newer.
